We had gone for generations to Door County Wisconsin, but not for several decades now. This film documents our adventure, returning to Door County with our new son. A theme quickly manifested... we were seeking the inspiring Door County sunsets of lore. We found them and a bit more of ourselves as well.

[Novice editing (and guitar) here, but this one means a lot to me.]

I am an ER doctor.... A Short Film of life at Mt. Sinai, a level 1 trauma center, where I have worked and taught for eleven years... a home I am poised to leave... a family I am about to embrace... as I depart.
It has been like a medical mission, to the far reaches of Chicago's wild West-side... the murder capital of this fulgent American city.
Our patients are often the poorest the city coldly holds... some without even a home, a family, some.... without even their sanity.
It is an environment where the absurd is expected... and the norm is a surprise.
We can be filled with rage, sometimes even hate, malice, selfishness....
But the wonderment, when compassion,
hope
and even love
bleed through the absurdity...

Amidst the mystic unglaciated Driftless Region of southwest Wisconsin this couple begins the celebration with an impossible surprise for the groom.

Mirroring life, what starts out as a beautifully scripted wedding, turns into something even more endearing as a Summer rainshower descends on the party, sending everyone running for cover.

A lesson in attachment and letting go, this is a candid short you will not forget.

July 3, 2005: We've returned from the Philippines... Discovering the Source - Our journey back to the town of Talisay, Batangas, Philippines... where our father and aunts were raised, and our ancestors toiled, loved, created, died... where their souls linger in eternal bliss.

This short film is in part is a search for who we truly are, and how we can embrace that self once again.

Mid-Summer 2005 my Father, Sister Rachel, and Independent Filmmaker David Macasaet traveled to my Dad's hometown to see my ailing 95 year-old grandmother and visit with other family. We also explored my Grandfather's life and legacy; he passed away in 1977, but clearly lives on to this day in spirit.

Along the way we discovered much about our own lives, dreams, and souls. Almost all of the places we visited and people we me were unplanned and unscripted... we simply followed the gentle hand of our forefather's living energy, being led from moment to moment by this unseen love.
